In March to May 2022 we hired interns to help construct the African Futurist Greenhouse in Detroit. Located at the African Bead Museum, students meet each weekend to learn arts from director Olayami Dabls, and computing from our instructors. They used the adinkra CSDT to recreate the symbol Asase Ye Duru ("the earth has weight"). They assembled their own laser cutter, and etched the symbol into wood so that it could become the triangular lintel over the door. Other projects included developing a logo, electronics for automated venting, and even helping out with polycarbonate installation.
