The CSDT Team just wrapped up a two-month long workshop at Howe Library from May to June, 2018, creating oral histories for the South End neighborhood of Albany, NY. The workshop allowed two youths to interview three important figures in the history of the South End, and record the resulting audio for hosting on the CSDT website. The first month of the workshop consisted of conducting the interviews, and the second month consisted of editing the audio and making appropriate tags for the subjects being talked about. The result of the interviews is our new Oral History Module, where you can listen to the three interviews (30 mins each).
Thanks to all the participants who agreed to be interviewed, and the students who conducted the interviews and did all the work. Thanks also to Tor Loney at the Howe Public Library for making this workshop happen! Also thanks to Donald Hyman for recruiting the interviewees and lending his guidance to the workshop. And to Rashid Howell for providing AV support.
