In July 2019 we use a series of CSDTs at Detroit’s American Indian Family Health and Services summer youth program, “DreamSeekers”. We began with the Quilting CSDT, and then moved to the 3D Anishinaabe Arcs. Our final session experimented with sensors. We experimented with LED warning lights, and thanked a tree in Anishinaabemowin for donating the branches we mounted our sensors on. Finally we took a field trip to the Detroit river, where we mapped temperature differences to see if they conformed to the students’ hypotheses about where the highest temperatures could be found.
