Professor Ron Eglash, C-STEM Principal Investigator, was invited to the White House Conference on Inclusive STEM Education for Youth of Color. It was a great opportunity to chat about the C-STEM project and its predecessor, the Triple Helix project, with a broad spectrum of people in STEM education diversity. There were celebrity participants such as astronauts Mae Jemison and Bernard Harris; industry reps like Barbara Whye (Intel's diversity initiative); and community activists like Sarah Echohawk (who is also CEO of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society). One of the highlights for me was getting this photo with Bob Moses, the civil rights activist who founded the Algebra Project.
